CUSTOM reimagines lighting as a deeply personal experience through an interactive lamp that responds to individual preferences and needs. The idea was incepted as a result of choosing my position of 'Against mass consumption, but pro mass production' when I was asked to position myself as a Design on a 2*2 matrix of Pro/Against mass production & mass consumption.

The idea was to build a product by IKEA where user's relation with the product increases, which will develop a close bond between the User and the product. This design explores the intersection of everyday objects and customized interaction, allowing users to create their ideal lighting environment.

The lamp's minimalist form is housed within a metal cage, with playful interaction of magnets that the user can play around with and personalise their lamp. By studying how people naturally interact with light in their personal spaces, CUSTOM adapts to established patterns while introducing subtle innovations in both physical form and interaction design. The project demonstrates how thoughtful personalization can transform utilitarian objects into meaningful companions that enhance our daily rituals and living environments.
